  The Chicago Tribune in a front-page editorial tonight explained that it was refraining from publishing stories about student protests in tomorrow's editions as its own protest against "the at-sentesicen such demonstra-
  tions.
  "It is the fashion now to protest," the paper said.
  "Everybody seems to be doing it. For this day we choose to follow the fashion. We protest the attention, concern and indulgence that have been accorded to student protesters on the university campuses all over the world.
  We think that they have gen-crated news out of all proportion to their numbers and importance.
  "As a demonstration of our protest we are refraining from printing any news about protesting students to-day. Tomorrow we shall go backs to reporting shil story. print the news whether we find it pleasing or repugnant.""
