"Beavers, Castor canadensis, have made a huge recovery, but  food sources can be limited. Beavers on a lake where I work have taken to chewing on black cherry, whose bark produces cyanide as a defense.  I imagine that they become somewhat ill, and they stop well before felling the cherry trees. 🌏🌾"
