"9th May, 1941. The submarine U-110, under noted U-Boat commander Fritz-Julius Lemp, was attacked and forced to surface. A boarding party from the destroyer HMS Bulldog recovered an Enigma machine and the latest codes, which proved immediately useful to cryptanalysts at Bletchley Park.
