"7th May, 1945. The final actions of the U-Boat war. U-320 was depth charged off Norway and later scuttled, the last of 785 boats to be lost. The Type XXIII submarine U-2336 sank merchant ships in the Firth of Forth at 22:45 and 23:00, the last of around 3,000 Allied vessels sunk by U-Boats."
