"So. Changing gear on a lorry. Pull away until you’re doing 1500rpm, take it out of gear. Let revs drop to 1000 rpm and select next gear up. As you slow down you have to rev it up 500rpm to get the next gear down. So that sounds like a load of rigmarole so I tried changing gear like in a car. Failed"
