"a very large squid at the surface of the water. the squid is ventral side up and inclined about 15 degrees to the observer, so we're looking at the arms down toward the mantle and fins. the mantle looks muscular and is nearly cylindrical - it's mostly white, with red creeping in toward the edges. the tail is mostly obscured by reflections against the surface of the water, but we can see that it's red, and fairly small relative to the mantle. the funnel is mostly white and is facing away from us, and the brachial crown is mostly red. we can see one entirely black eye of the squid slightly below the surface, and the arms facing us are very thick and muscular, and red. they have two rows of suckers per arm."
