"Wynn Las Vegas agreed to forfeit $130 million to resolve a US investigation into its use of third-party agents to recruit foreign gamblers and the way the agents had transferred funds worldwide for the casino’s ultimate benefit.

In a securities filing late today, the subsidiary of Wynn Resorts said it had entered into a non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in southern California and with the US Justice Department.

Under the non-prosecution agreement, the resort and casino said it would forfeit $130 million and continue to make enhancements to its compliance program, and prosecutors won’t file charges if it complies with the terms of the deal, the filing said.

The settlement is believed to be the largest forfeiture by a casino based on admissions of criminal wrongdoing, prosecutors said. As part of the US investigation, 15 other defendants have admitted money laundering, unlicensed money transmitting or other crimes, and paid penalties of more than $7.5 million."
