  From a review of MaXXXine, and from the IMDb trivia. I don't know where people are getting this from - maybe the press notes for the film, which would be an egregious thing to include by the studio
  - but this is just literally false. Not even an exaggeration, just a flat-out lie.
  MaXXXine was shot on digital, using modern anamorphics, and a litany of other modern filmmaking tools - remote heads, drones, etc - not to mention wireless video and all the other behind the scenes stuff you'd never see. There are also hundreds of VFX shots in the movie.
  This absurd nonsense has GOT to stop."
