Sorry it wouldn't let me post this, too long. Just something I'm imagining. The pitcher, sweating, trembling, tosses his pitch. It's fast, sure, but fast enough? No. The batter, in one swift motion, drops his bat, reaches out, catches the ball. He grins maniacally at the thin skeleton atop the mound. He holds the ball up in front of his face, looks at it, and laughs. Then he looks at the pitcher and the smile vanishes from his face. He holds up a finger and wags it at the pitcher and whispers, "Not so fast." Strangely to the pitcher, he can hear the whisper, despite the crowd noise. It roars in his ears like rushing blood, terrifying him. A black mist clouds his eyes. Then the slugger in one swift motion tosses the ball into the air above himself, kicks his bat off the ground and into his hands, and smashes the ball out of the park."

"The crowd explodes in elation and rage. They toss knives and trash at the pitcher. The pitcher collapses onto the mound, his head in his hands. Slowly he curls into a foetal position. The pitching coach comes out onto the mound and drags the pitcher's limp form into the dugout. His teammates stand over him, ashamed. They spit tobacco juice and chewed up bubblegum onto his pathetic body. They curse at him and insult him. The broadcast team zooms in on him, ridicules, him, insults him. Fans drop into the dugout from above and begin to pummel the pitcher with their fists, spitting on him as well, ridiculing him. His teammates do nothing to stop the violence. Meanwhile the slugger has been at the plate this whole time hitting home run after home run by himself with baseballs handed to him by the umpire."
