"**Violet**: She/her. “Young woman” (early to mid 20s ish), brown hair, violet eyes, freckles, average height, athletic build. Our human protagonist, Violet lives in a small house by the sea with her father and older brother. She became the chief caretaker of the home after her mother died and is often left alone while her father and brother are at sea. She longs to leave and build her own life, but feels trapped where she is.
**Marris**: She/her. Age is unknown, physically appears to be the same age range as Violet. Gold hair that almost looks green in certain lights. Tanned skin, round body type, green eyes, blue tail. Our mermaid love interest, she has been trapped in the cove by [antagonist], who has hidden away the jewels they symbolize her power and channel her magic. Marris is actually next in line to her Kingdom’s throne and [antagonist] wants to use her to gain power of the sea."
